What kind of weather can be covered?

Weather that can be measured, such as rainfall, snowfall or temperature, over a single day or a full season.

Where and when is the weather measured?

At an agreed local weather station over agreed dates, such as April to June or December to February. Both are set in the terms before you commit. In the examples above, the rain-days contract pays $15,000 for each rain day beyond 12, up to $150,000. The warm-winter contract pays $20,000 for each degree the December to February average rises above 40°F, up to $200,000.

Do I have to prove what I lost?

No. The payout follows the agreed weather measurement. There are no loss adjusters.

What happens if the weather stays within your plan?

The contract doesn’t pay out, and the upfront cost isn’t returned. You paid for protection you didn’t end up needing.
